Sony's $500 BluRay player

Noticed yesterday that Wal Mart is now stocking a BluRay player for $500.

Quite the price drop given the players I priced last winter.

They have built this one sort of like junk. It has a weak frame with no vibration resistance, or isoloated power supply. Also they have merged the audio and video boards instead of keeping them seperate in the original. I wonder how long this one will last physically. It should sell real well.

I'm not buying any HD player until the format wars are decided.

I tend to agree with you there. Although other than the sucky price, I wouldn't mind having a combined player like LG has. It does tend to be a little slow though.
